ABOUT US

FinTech T&T is one of the pillars of the ‘FinTech Roadmap’ for Trinidad and Tobago, which is a strategic plan for the country to become a FinTech-enabled Financial Services Hub.

WHAT WE DO

FinTech TT’s role is to promote and develop a FinTech industry in Trinidad and Tobago by bringing together FinTech stakeholders and creating a collective voice for the said industry to

(a) facilitate collaboration between market participants;

(b) provide a platform for members to engage with agencies of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and other key stakeholders;

(c) to share ideas, solve problems, promote best practises, network and shape the future of the industry.

While we worked with Ernst & Young (EY), much of what has been developed was made possible by collaboration with a wide cross-section of stakeholders, which began in September 2018 with a stakeholder engagement session, at which Senator Allyson West (then Minister in the Ministry of Finance) endorsed the project, and culminating in an ideation session in December 2019 attended by the sector’s main stakeholders (chambers of business, banks, insurance companies, regulators, technology firms). There was unanimous affirmation of the need for FinTech T&T, and comprehensive guidance was provided by attendees in this regard.
